{ "abstract": "<p>This thesis focuses on signal selection for a potential measurement of the \ud835\udc35 -> p anti-n l nu_l decay at the Belle II detector. This specific baryonic decay has never been measured and could potentially contribute a sizable amount to the total branching fractions of the B -> X_u l nu decay channels.</p>\n\n<p>The signal selection is divided in the following categories: a cut based preselection, a BDT training to differentiate between the background and the signal, a evaluation of the data and further reduction of the background after the BDT discrimination, as well as a counting experiment based on the amount of background still left after the analysis to estimate the sensitivity and the upper branching fraction which would be possible to measure with this approach.</p>", "author": [ { "family": "Herrchen, Karl Johannes" } ], "id": "22343", "issued": { "date-parts": [ [ 2025, 7, 27 ] ] }, "language": "eng", "title": "Signal selection for $ \\mathbf{B \\rightarrow p \\bar{n} \\ell \\nu} $ at the Belle II experiment", "type": "thesis" }
